What a fantastic day at the Hume and Hovell cricket oval

Two Cricket teams face each other

What a fantastic day!

The Hume and Hovell Cricket Oval at Strath Creek saw the match between the Victorian

Blind Cricket Association and the team from the International Fellowship of Cricketing Rotarians for the inaugural Hume and Hovell Cup. The VBCA walked away with a much deserved win.

It was a great day of cricket, fast bowling competitions, great local food and beautiful local wines for tasting and sale. All the money raised on the day will go to Vision Australia Radio and the Victorian Blind Cricket Association

Prue Watt, fresh from her gold medal winning swim at the 2012 London Paralympics was there to toss the coin to get the match underway and present the cup while Shawn Cosgrove did a fantastic job of compering the day and making the whole thing fun.

Thanks to Don and Anne McQueen and the staff and the competing cricket teams for making the day so special. And a special thanks to Bryan Horskins from Barwite Wines for his energy and focus on making the day so successful.

We will be back to Strath Creek in 2014 after the rematch next year at Kooyong!
