Vision Australia Radio is proud to continue its long‑standing tradition of exhibiting at ImpactInstitute disability expos, with our team heading to Cranbourne this March for the South East Melbourne Disability Expo.
Having regularly exhibited at Impact Institute events in Melbourne and Geelong, this year marks an exciting new chapter as Vision Australia Radio connects with communities in the south‑east of Melbourne. The expo will be held at the Cranbourne Racing Centre and brings together people with disability, families, carers and service providers under one accessible roof, creating valuable opportunities for connection and discovery.
At the event, the Vision Australia Radio team will be on hand to promote both our Melbourne and Warragul services, raising awareness of our free, accessible radio services for people who are blind, have low vision, or live with print disability. Vision Australia Radio provides trusted news, information, entertainment and community voices to listeners who may not be able to access information through traditional print or visual media.
Conrad Browne, Vision Australia Radio and Audio Manager, says the team is especially excited to be attending the South East Melbourne Disability Expo for the first time.
“We’re really looking forward to being part of this new event and connecting and engaging with the South East Melbourne community,” Conrad says.
“Expos like this are a powerful way to raise awareness of Vision Australia Radio and the vital role our services play in keeping people informed, connected and included. Every conversation helps us reach people who might otherwise miss out on accessing news and information through traditional means.”
Vision Australia Radio’s presence at the Expo is made possible through the ongoing sponsorship and support of Impact Institute, whose disability expos are held across Australia each year, including in regional and metropolitan Victoria. Jason Gipps, Vision Australia Radio Sponsorship Coordinator, highlighted the importance of this partnership.
“We genuinely value the sponsorship support of Impact Institute and their commitment to ensuring blind and low‑vision services are visible at their events,” Jason says.
“Not only do they provide a financial contribution that helps us deliver the radio services we do, but they also offer vital in‑kind support, such as a presence at the event itself. That visibility is crucial in helping us reach new listeners and communities.”
By attending the South East Melbourne Disability Expo, Vision Australia Radio continues its commitment to meeting people where they are, building awareness of readin print disability community radio services, and strengthening connections with local communities across Victoria.
Visitors to the expo are encouraged to stop by the Vision Australia Radio stand to learn more about our services, how to listen and how Vision Australia Radio supports independence, inclusion and access to information for people with blindness, low vision and print disability.
