Vision Australia Radio is proud to celebrate an extraordinary night of recognition at the 2025 Community Broadcasting Awards, where our team achieved nine nominations, took home three prestigious awards, and saw a beloved member of our community, Peter Greco, honoured with an achievement award.
With over 260 entries across more than 20 categories, this year’s Awards showcased the very best of Australian community broadcasting, making Vision Australia Radio’s achievements all the more remarkable.
These acknowledgements celebrate the power and necessity of accessible media and the passion that drives our volunteers, staff, as well as the vital support of our sponsors, donors, contributors and listeners across Australia.
Accessibility and inclusion key to award wins

Outstanding Fundraising and Sponsorship Contribution – Jason Gipps
Jason Gipps, Vision Australia’s National Audio Business Development Consultant, has managed Vision Australia Radio sponsor relations for our 17 radio services across 11 broadcast regions for 7 years. His role includes elements of producing content, community engagement and managing the networks media partnerships.
Honouring a legend: Peter Greco
In a special moment of national recognition, long-time Vision Australia Radio presenter Peter Greco was inducted into the Community Broadcasting Honour Roll by the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA).
Peter’s 34 years of volunteering for Vision Australia Radio more than qualified him as a nominee in the category, which required him to have provided 15 years or more of dedicated service to community broadcasting. His decades of advocacy for inclusion and accessibility have made him a trusted producer/presenter, and familiar voice to so many who have consumed his content for well over a quarter of a century.
From ‘Leisure Link to Focal Point' (with Phil Vanderpeer), ‘Vision Extra’, and 'Vision Sports’, Peter’s work has uplifted countless voices within the blind, low vision, and disability communities. Beyond the mic, he remains a passionate advocate for a more inclusive and accessible society.
A network with purpose
Reflecting on the awards, Conrad Browne, Manager of Vision Australia Radio and Audio, said,
“These awards are a powerful recognition of the essential service Vision Australia Radio provides to people who are blind, have low vision, or experience print disability.
Every program, broadcast, and partnership is powered by our volunteers’ dedication, the ongoing support of our sponsors’, donors and partners. Together, we make sure that everyone, regardless of vision status, has access to information, entertainment, and a platform from which to be heard."
A celebration of community
Vision Australia Radio’s nine nominations at the 2025 Community Broadcasting Awards are a testament to the creativity, collaboration, and purpose that define our network.
From Melbourne to Adelaide, Perth to regional Australia, our stations continue to empower people with print disabilities through accessible, inclusive, and high-quality programming, built on the belief that every Australian has a right to news and information, in a format that is accessible to them.
Congratulations to all of our nominees, winners, and volunteers across the Vision Australia Radio Network – your work continues to inspire and make a difference every day.
