The Impact 2024 Conference was held in Melbourne on May 9th, 2024. As proud partners of the event, Vision Australia Radio played a role in educating individuals from both not-for-profit and corporate backgrounds across the Australian Disability Network, totalling an impressive 440 members. The conference was a vibrant platform where ideas were shared, and actions were activated to foster access and inclusion for all.
Vision Australia Radio, along with Vision Australia's Employment Team, had the privilege of exhibiting, shedding light on the fundamental human right of access to information and advocating for meaningful employment opportunities for individuals living with blindness and low vision.
Jason Gipps from Vision Australia Radio and Vision Australia Employment Consultants Greg Brown and Paul Roberts represented our organization with utmost dedication and enthusiasm.
Jason summarized the experience, describing it as overwhelmingly positive.
“We engaged in numerous meaningful conversations, acquainting attendees with the essential services offered by our audio, library, and print access teams, while sharing the efforts of our employment team in fostering rewarding career pathways for the blind and low vision community. From a Vision Australia Radio perspective, the prospects for content collaboration with the brands we interacted with are promising and we’re optimistic about engaging with newsupporters for the service.”
Another good outcome of the conference is the deepening relationship that is growing with the event organisers, the Australian Disability Network, and their admiration for our radio network and the services that Vision Australia provide.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to those across Vision Australia contributed to making our partnership with Impact 2024 a resounding success. Special thanks to Joelle Rault, Paul Roberts, Greg Brown, Sarah Bloedorn, Chris Edkins, and Liz Dalakouras for their support and dedication in supporting the partnership.
And finally, we thank you, our audience for your continued support. It is our radio and podcast listeners that help Vision Australia Radio be a platform for people who live with blindness, low vision and print disability to share their experiences and for us to provide for them in their information needs.
