Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight will this year be simulcast complete with audio description, on Vision Australia Radio network in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, regional Victoria, Albury and Darwin. Audio description paints an image of transitions, movements, gestures, neatly woven between on-stage dialogue, allowing people who are blind or have low vision to enjoy this great event. Studio 1 takes home CBAA award
Vision Australia Radio’s current affairs show Studio 1 and host Matthew Layton have taken out the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia award for Excellence in News and Current Affairs Programming. Matthew said he was thrilled just to be nominated but to win is a fantastic result and well deserved by the whole team of people who put together Studio 1 each week. Read more here.

In further recognition of Studio 1’s efforts over the last year, the radio program was also nominated at the Australian Podcast Awards 2020 and we are pleased to share that in its first year of broadcasting the show picked up silver place in the ‘Best Radio Podcast’ category. This is a great achievement for the team that work on the program both behind the mic and behind the scenes and is the first time that Vision Australia has been nominated at the awards.
