Vision Australia Radio is delighted to celebrate a brand‑new initiative supporting the blind and low vision community across Victoria: Taste of the senses – An accessible wine and sensory journey, hosted by Red Feet Wines in the King Valley.
This groundbreaking event, designed specifically for people who are blind or have low vision, creates a space where wine appreciation goes far beyond sight. Every element is crafted to be experienced through touch, taste, aroma, sound and storytelling, allowing guests to explore wine as a truly multisensory journey.
A milestone for accessible tourism in regional Victoria
Taking place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, this unique event marks the first dedicated vision‑impaired wine tasting experience in the King Valley region.
Guests will be guided through three Red Feet wines, each paired with small dishes and accompanied by tactile objects such as grape skins, barrel wood and soil samples. These elements help build a vivid picture of how wine is grown, crafted and enjoyed.
Professional orientation and mobility support, clear tactile wayfinding, anti‑glare settings and options for braille and large‑print materials all ensure that the event environment is welcoming, supportive and fully accessible. This aligns with Red Feet Wines’ ongoing commitment to inclusive tourism and community representation.
