Vision Australia Radio is delighted to announce the extension of our Accessibility Partnership with Black Swan State Theatre Company for a further 12 months, continuing a successful collaboration built on a shared commitment to inclusion, access and community connection.
Since launching in September 2025, the partnership has helped raise awareness of accessible theatre experiences and supported more people who are blind or have low vision to engage with the performing arts. Through initiatives including audio described performances, tactile tours, accessible programs and regular promotion across Vision Australia Radio's network, the partnership has connected audiences with opportunities to experience live theatre in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Vision Australia Radio Operations Manager, Nat Grant said the extension reflects the positive impact the partnership continues to have for the blind and low vision community.
"We are incredibly grateful to Black Swan State Theatre Company for their ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Their willingness to invest in making theatre more accessible helps ensure people who are blind or have low vision can participate more fully in arts and cultural experiences."
"Partnerships like this are about more than promoting events. They help create greater awareness, break down barriers, and ensure our community can access and enjoy the rich cultural opportunities available in Western Australia."
Black Swan State Theatre Company has demonstrated a strong commitment to accessibility through initiatives including audio description, tactile tours, accessible venue facilities and other measures designed to make performances more inclusive for all audiences. These efforts align closely with Vision Australia Radio's mission to connect people who are blind, have low vision or live with a print disability to information, entertainment and community.
As the partnership enters its second year, Vision Australia Radio looks forward to continuing to share stories, promote accessible performances and support greater participation in the arts across Western Australia.
We thank Black Swan State Theatre Company for their continued support and commitment to meeting the information and access needs of the local blind and low vision community.
