Podcast Highlight: Bushfire support for recovering communities

Local organisations are being offered up to $50,000 in grants to help rebuild and revive their community CommBank Bushfire Recovery Grants have already been awarded to more than 100 organisations across Australia, totalling $3.5 million.

After a devastating bushfire season, local organisations are being offered up to $50,000 in grants from CommBank to help rebuild and revive their facilities, infrastructure, and services, so they may continue to operate and support their community. With the ambition to aid long-term recovery and part of the bank’s broader Bushfire Appeal, the CommBank Bushfire Recovery Grants have already been awarded to more than 100 organisations across Australia, totalling $3.5 million.

Community organisations, fire services and schools in bushfire affected areas are some of the organisations eligible to apply. Organisations must be wanting to implement community activities that aim to strengthen social connectedness, emotional wellbeing and assist communities recover from the bushfires. CommBank has committed to donating up to $10 million to bushfire affected organisations through its Bushfire Recovery Grants Program. Applications to apply for the grants close on 30 June 2020.
