Vision Australia Radio has welcomed nbn as a new partner, following more than 12 months of planning, relationship building and collaboration led by accessibility-focused agency Half Dome.
The four-month campaign reflects a shared commitment to improving access to information, services and opportunities for Australians who are blind, have low vision or live with print disability. It also comes at a significant time for Vision Australia Radio, as the network continues its transition towards a stronger focus on digital listening options and online accessibility.
A shared commitment to accessibility
At the heart of the partnership is a mutual belief that technology can help create greater independence, connection and participation.
nbn's campaign focuses on digital inclusion and the important role reliable internet access can play in everyday life. For many people who are blind or have low vision, internet-connected devices provide access to news, information, entertainment, education and essential services that support greater independence and community participation.
Through Vision Australia Radio, nbn has an opportunity to share information and resources with an audience that can benefit directly from accessible digital technologies and connected services.
Extending access through trusted channels
As Vision Australia Radio encourages listeners to explore online streaming, smart speakers, mobile apps and other accessible ways of accessing content, the partnership creates a natural connection between reliable connectivity and access to information.
The campaign's messaging has been adapted to focus on real-world benefits, highlighting how a fast and reliable nbn® internet connection can help people stay informed, connected and engaged with their communities. It also introduces listeners to accessibility features and practical resources available through nbn's digital platforms.
By delivering these messages through Australia's national radio service for people with print disability, the campaign helps ensure important information reaches audiences in formats that are accessible and relevant.
Bringing the partnership to life
National Audio Business Development Consultant Jason Gipps worked closely with stakeholders throughout the campaign development process to align nbn's objectives with Vision Australia Radio's mission of creating a more accessible world.
A special acknowledgement goes to Half Dome, whose team explored partnership opportunities on behalf of nbn and played an instrumental role in bringing the campaign together. Their focus on accessibility and inclusive communications helped identify strong alignment between the organisations and ultimately laid the foundation for the partnership.
More than a partnership
The partnership represents more than a commercial arrangement. It demonstrates how organisations can work together to improve awareness, expand access to information and better support Australians living with disability.
It is also a significant achievement for Vision Australia Radio and highlights the growing recognition of the network's unique audience and its value as a trusted communication channel for organisations committed to accessibility and inclusion.
Thank you to the teams involved
Bringing the campaign to air required flexibility, collaboration and commitment from teams across multiple organisations. Special thanks to the Vision Australia Radio production and scheduling teams for their support throughout the planning and implementation process.
