Did you know that Vision Australia Radio relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers and donors to stay on the air?
In fact, even though Vision Australia Radio is supported by more than 600 wonderful volunteers, we still incur annual expenses exceeding $2.2 million. Broadcasting is an expensive business, but to our community, it’s also a vital one.

Vision Australia Radio has been around in some form since the 1970s, and in that time has supported countless Australians who are blind or have low vision or print disabilities to stay connected and informed.
“Vision Australia Radio provides a platform for the blind, low vision and print disability community to share lived experiences and their stories through a trusted source that is here specifically for our community of interest,” says Conrad Browne, manager radio and audio services at Vision Australia.
Were Vision Australia Radio to cease to exist, hundreds of thousands of people would be left without easy access to the essential news and information that sighted individuals can take for granted. Crucially, the loss of such a trusted source of information would cause even further exclusion for those in our community with low vision, blindness or a print disability.
By supporting Vision Australia Radio this end of financial year, you will help to ensure that individuals with print disabilities continue to have equal access to news, information and entertainment, all within a safe and inclusive community.
Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible and can be made securely online. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps us stay sustainable, independent and accessible to those who need us.
