Vision Australia Radio is proud to once again support the Blind Australian of the Year Awards as an official media partner in 2026, continuing our commitment to celebrating the achievements, leadership and contributions of Australians who are blind or have low vision.
The Blind Australian of the Year Awards have become a powerful celebration of inclusion, advocacy and community connection, recognising members of the community and organisations making a meaningful impact across Australia. Following the success of last year’s sold out gala event, Vision Australia Radio is excited to again help share the stories of nominees, finalists and award recipients with audiences nationwide.
The 2026 awards program will once again bring together members of the blind and low vision community, industry leaders, sponsors and supporters for an evening dedicated to recognising excellence and celebrating what’s possible.
Vision Australia Radio Community Engagement Coordinator Jason Gipps said the partnership reflects the network’s ongoing commitment to amplifying the voices and experiences of Australians who are blind, have low vision or live with a print disability.
“The Blind Australian of the Year Awards are an important opportunity to celebrate achievement, leadership and representation within our community. We’re proud to once again support the awards as a media partner and help share these inspiring stories with listeners right across Australia.”
As part of the partnership, Vision Australia Radio will provide promotion and coverage leading into the awards, while also attending the event to capture interviews, highlights and reflections from nominees, guests and organisers.
Last year’s coverage delivered a vibrant snapshot of the event, including red carpet interviews, conversations with community members, exhibitors and award organisers, as well as highlights from the gala evening itself.
