Welcome to Vision Australia Radio’s ‘Speak my Language (disability) special presentation, made possible with thanks to our sponsor Ethnic Communities Council of NSW,

Two exciting instalments that introduce Vision Australia Radio listeners to an extensive online library of podcasts that feature hundreds of people from culturally diverse communities, sharing their lived experience of disability from their unique cultural perspectives.

Within two 28-minute episodes, you will hear from one of WA’s leading disability advocates Zeliha Iscel, who will share her involvement in the Speak my Language Disability podcast series, Zeliha features in one of 25 Turkish language stories. We’ll speak to Indian born, Hindi speaker Nidhi Shekaran who is the current Chairperson on the City of Sydney’s Inclusion (Disability) Advisory Panel. Columbia born Yazmin Cruz will share how social interaction supported her in dealing with vision loss, and we speak to another Hindi speaking participant Anushka Singh, a blind sports ambassador and Vision Australia team member.
